In a surprising turn of events, both star players Devin Booker and Stephen Curry have been officially ruled out for the upcoming game between the Suns and Warriors, which will be exclusively available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
This marks the seventh consecutive game that Booker has missed due to a right ankle sprain, an injury he sustained during a defeat against the Atlanta Hawks on January 23. In his last performance before the injury, he showcased his scoring ability by racking up 31 points with an impressive shooting percentage of 57.1% (12-of-21).
Meanwhile, Jalen Green is facing uncertainty as he’s listed as questionable for this matchup due to issues with his right hamstring and a left hip contusion. The guard has been sidelined for three games after taking a nasty fall during a match against the Cleveland Cavaliers last Friday. To date, Green has participated in only five out of the Suns' 51 games this season, averaging 11.6 points per game while shooting at 43.5%, along with 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists.
Stephen Curry, a two-time NBA MVP, will be missing his second game in a row because of a right knee injury. Throughout the season, he has maintained an average of 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists over 39 games played. It's noteworthy that Curry was active in the previous three encounters between the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors, where the Suns managed to secure two victories, effectively limiting Curry's shooting efficiency to below 50% in each contest.
Adding to the Warriors' injury woes, Jimmy Butler remains out of commission following a torn right ACL sustained on January 20. Since joining the team via a significant trade last season, Butler has averaged 20 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists across 38 games.
The Warriors’ injury report also notes that Seth Curry, who is dealing with irritation of the left sciatic nerve, and Jonathan Kuminga, suffering from a left knee bone bruise, will not be participating on Thursday. Younger brother Seth, who briefly played for the Suns during the 2014-15 season, is expected to be reevaluated in about two weeks as he progresses with on-court workouts. Kuminga will be missing his sixth straight game, having played only 20 games this season due to various knee and ankle injuries.
Additionally, L.J. Cryer has been designated as questionable due to management of a left hamstring injury. This undrafted rookie has played in three games—each in January—contributing eight minutes of action on the court.
Be sure to catch the Suns vs. Warriors game at 8 p.m. on 98.7 FM and through the Arizona Sports app.
